In order to become fully active, members must upload photos to their accounts. This requirement helps us prevent spam and increase the effectiveness of the network. It also helps players find partners that are well-suited to their age and fitness level.
Show Us Your Face
Players want to know what you look like. Please, show us your face so that we can get a sense of your age and your fitness level.
Don’t forget to smile. Racquet Network’s internal tracking clearly indicates that smiling faces generate more activity than glum faces.
No Group Shots
We want to see you — only you — in your profile photo. Please crop your photo so that you are the only person we can see.
If you don’t know how to do that, email it to us and we will do it for you. Racquet Network staff are always happy to help new players complete their profiles and become active participants in the network. Please email your image to brentjohner@racquetnetwork.com.
Be Recent
We want to know what you look like right now. If you don’t have a recent photo, grab the nearest person with a camera phone or a digital camera.
Remember: Racquet Network is not a dating site. So there is no benefit to be gained by uploading an old image that makes you look younger and/or thinner than you are right now.
A recent photo will lead to better match-ups. You will have more fun and you will play more often with people who are about the same age and about the same fitness level.
Avoid Rejection
Your photo will be rejected if it includes any of the following
-
cartoons
baby pictures
group shots
distorted or artistically rendered images
images of anything other than you
images in which your face is not visible

Approval Process
Racquet Network approves most images within a few minutes. However, images that are submitted overnight, on weekends or holidays or during periods of high work loads can take a little longer to process. Please allow up to 24 hours for approval.
Players are notified by email when images are approved. Players with approved images are able to login and access the site immediately.
Players who cannot login 24 hours after submitting a new profile image, should contact our staff for clarification.
The History of the Policy
In 2008, Racquet Network instituted a player profile photo policy because we noticed that players with photos in their profiles were eight times more likely to play than players without photos. We also noticed that players without profile photos were:
-
most likely to spam other players
most likely to link to offensive content in their profiles
least likely to respond to emails from other players
most likely NOT to show up to play games as promised
We also made our decision after frequent players told us:
-
they tend not to ask photo-less players to play
they tend not to respond to requests from photo-less players
they had their worst experiences with photo-less players
photo-less players were most likely to incorrectly indicate their skill level
