Who Can Teach?
Marvin Wong of TYCO TENNIS has been working with Racquet Network since 2004. He has his own network of students and clients. But he also accepts contracts from Racquet Network whenever they fit into his schedule.

Racquet Network works with certified, adult (18 years +) racquet sports instructors. New instructors are welcome to join our network at any time.

Some Racquet Network instructors are full-time teaching pros who use this network to top up group lessons or make new contacts for private and semi-private lessons.

Some Racquet Network instructors are part-time, freelance instructors who teach racquet sports seasonally.

Some Racquet Network instructors are players who supplement their income by teaching private, semi-private and group lessons.

Some Racquet Network instructors are new instructors who are just beginning the process of meeting students and making contacts.

Some Racquet Network instructors are retired racquet sports enthusiasts who are seeking an opportunity to give something back to the game they love.

Racquet Network welcomes instructors of all kinds. By working together within a single network, we increase our ability to meet new customers and grow our sports.

Growing the Instructor Pool

Racquet Network is committed to growing the international instructor pool for all racquet sports. For that reason, we encourage our frequent players to take the next step and become certified instructors.

Racquet Network is not in the certification business. We do not certify instructors. We choose, instead, to work with international, national and provincial bodies and encourage our instructors to become and remain certified.

Proof of Insurance

As of August 1, 2009, Racquet Network will require proof of insurance for all tennis instructors teaching on publicly-owned courts. Since any member in good stand of any of the major tennis professional associations in North America is automatically insured, proof of membership is all that will be necessary at this time.

Proof of insurance is not required for indoor racquet sports instructors (yet) because instructors are marginally protected by the facility owner’s insurance. Some protection is also offered by various racquet sports professional associations under conditions specified in their insurance policies.

In order to bring unity to this issue and in order to ensure that all of our instructors are equally protected, Racquet Network will begin carrying our own liability insurance in 2012. In order to be covered by this insurance, instructors will have to pay a SMALL annual fee. The more instructors we have, the smaller this fee will be.
